Backup Computer - Windows Server 2003 SP1, 2008 Sp1, Windows XP SP2, Vista Sp1 Pentium 4 2GHZ+, 1GB RAM, 2GB of free disk space, Microsoft .net 3.5sp1 Framework.

Internet Connection

  • Minimum - 384kbps up / 3mbps down at the Office site and 384kbps up / 3mbps down at the home site.
  • Recommended - 800kbps up / 5mbps down at the office site and 384kbps up / 5mbps down at the home site are recommended.
  • The Office site router or firewall device should support PPTP traffic pass through. The Remote Site router or firewall device should be NAT enabled and support port forwarding of PPTP traffic with one Ethernet port open to plug the M3 Backup Appliance into.

Electrical

The M3 Backup Appliance requires two electrical outlets. It is recommended that the unit be plugged into a UPS Battery Backup or Surge Protector. A UPS Battery Backup is the preferred electrical connection.
